Over the last 7 years, Subaru has closed out the year with their Share The Love sales event. The event has helped Subaru contribute over $65 million to both local and national charities. This year, participating dealer Marion Subaru, has once again chosen Hospice of Southern Illinois as the local charity that will benefit from this years event.
Last year, Hospice of Southern Illinois received over $11,000 thanks to the contributions earmarked by local Subaru purchasers at Marion Subaru. Buyers who purchase a new Subaru vehicle, also can help contribute to 4 national charities. Here is a list of those 4 charities with a brief summation of how they have benefited over the years:
National Parks Foundation: In partnership with the National Park Service, enriches America's National Parks and programs through private support, safeguarding our heritage and inspiring generations of National Park enthusiasts. The National Park Foundation is proud to partner with Subaru on the recent launch of Find Your Park, a public awareness and education campaign celebrating the milestone centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016 and setting the stage for the next 100 years. In the last 7 years, Subaru has directly supported over 90 national parks to ensure their enjoyment for generations to come.
Meals on Wheels America: More than 5,000 local, community based programs are dedicated to fighting isolation and hunger among our nation's homebound seniors. Meals on Wheels America provides the national leadership that along with each donation helps deliver the nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable seniors to continue living nourished lives in their own homes. Thru the Subaru Share the Love Campaign, over 1.2 million meals have been funded for America's seniors.
Make a Wish Foundation: When kids with life-threatening medical conditions are granted their one true wish, they get the strength to keep fighting. Their families come together and lives get better for everyone involved. Over 880 kids have had their one true wish come true thanks to the Share the Love Campaign.
ASPCA: The voice for animals for nearly 150 years, the ASPCA has provided relief, care and service to those in need. Whether it's rescuing animals from abuse, introducing and enforcing more humane legislation, or supporting animal shelters across the country, each donation furthers efforts to help animals live better lives. Share the Love has helped over 10,000 animals nationwide.
Hospice of Southern Illinois: Hospice of Southern Illinois provides communities in 27 Southern Illinois and St. Louis Metro-East counties a wide array of services for individuals and their families facing the end of life. We are certified by both Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, generous financial support from the communities we serve allows Hospice of Southern Illinois to provide care to all patients and families regardless of ability to pay.
