Marion Subaru, through AdoptAClassroom.org, recently adopted Dawn Jackson's 3rd grade class at Washington School in Marion. Each year, on average, teachers spend up to $500 of their own money for school supplies. Thanks to Marion Subaru, the 3rd grade class will have more of what they need to succeed.
AdoptAClassroom.org has raised over $24 million over the years to help over 5 million students and over 200,000 teachers in over 137,000 classrooms. Here's how it works:
- Donors find and fund a classroom by searching for a teacher they know, a school they have a connection with, or a subject they're passionate about. 100% of the donations go to the classroom.
- Teachers purchase supplies online. AdoptAClassroom's partners provide a wide selection of everything from pencils and paper to iPads and projectors.
- Students then have the supplies they need to succeed.
- Donors receive updates on their impact. They receive reports on what their donations were used for and how it helped students.
