First Subaru Vehicle Makes History

The WRX, the Outback, and the Forester all trace their roots back to the 360, a tiny rear-engined car manufactured in Japan well before Subaru became a household name all around the world. Recognizing its importance, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) has just designated Subaru’s first mass-produced car a mechanical engineering heritage item.

The term “heritage item” is more than just a vague, boilerplate title. It means that the 360 is now…

Subaru's updated 2017 BRZ won't cost much more than last year's

When it arrives in September, Subaru's 2017 BRZ will come with a whole host of updates to the brand's only sport coupe. Thankfully, it's not going to charge you an arm and a leg to get access to all those upgrades. In fact, the base BRZ will start just $100 higher than the 2016 model.

Subaru shocks with the boy who breaks everything

a car commercial with an idea….

Well they don’t turn up very often as most such advertisers prefer to resort to meaningless test drives.

Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis has produced “The boy who breaks everything,’ for Subaru, a reverse Midas touch that destroys everything in his path except the aforementioned motor.

It’s a bit treacly – as is the way with most portrayals of American families in ads – but creditable for all that.

For the 2017 model year Subaru is updating its BRZ sporty coupe; the goals are better handling and increased performance, and the car has a more aggressive look and some new convenience features. Subaru says the improvements should make the little sportster continue its mission of offering an “unmatched driving experience.”

We’ve long loved the BRZ because of its brilliant handling and responsiveness. To make it respond even better…

How Subaru Is Playing 'Nanny' By Flipping Satellite Radio Channels In Its Cars

Looks like Subaru is perhaps being a little over-protective of its owners with regard to certain SiriusXM satellite radio stations.

It’s far from being censorship, but it’s enough to get under the skin of at least one owner who wondered why his 2016 Subaru Outback balked at his choice of programming, particularly (of all things) comedy.

As reported in Automotive IT News, Portland, OR resident Vince Patton became increasingly irritated when his car…

2016 Subaru Legacy review: Sometimes sensible shoes fit best

With fresh styling, the Subaru Legacy sedan has few flaws beyond its nondescript nature

We spill a lot of ink on the Subaru WRX and BRZ, and we all seem to love the Crosstrek -- a car so straightforward and simple, it’s cool in a throwback sort of way. It’s not tough to see why these vehicles are held in high regard by enthusiasts.

The Legacy, on the other hand, is a great case…
